Carol Lee Freebairn

August 16, 1938 ~ September 16, 2009

Carol Lee Freebairn passed away at the home of her daughter in Idaho Falls, ID on September 16, 2009.

Carol was born on August 16, 1938 in Los Angeles, CA, a daughter of Frank Roberts and Annie Snarr.

Carol married Owen Freebairn on January 10, 1958 in the Los Angeles Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They worked and enjoyed life together.

She was an electrician. She lived on a 72’ schooner sailboat in Hawaii. She helped build a log cabin in Blanding, UT. She decided with Owen to live like their ancestors did in the early 1800’s by building a log cabin with an outhouse, no running water and everything cooked on a wood stove.

She was involved in the Boy Scouts and was in the Auxiliary Coast Guard.

Her church callings were as a Primary Chorister, a Blazer A and B Teacher, Scout Master, Ward Young Women Camp Leader, Stake Young Women Camp Specialist and dedicated Visiting Teacher.

Her hobbies were oil painting, family history research, sailing, volleyball, basketball and camping.

She was always smiling, loving, happy mother and grandmother.

She was survived by her two brothers, Ronald and Donald Roberts; her four children Connie Barrett, Chuck Freebairn, Danny Freebairn, Carrie Lemmon; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was grateful for the kindness of others when she became a widow of nearly 14 years. She received so much aloha when she lived in Hawaii.

Funeral services will be in Orem, Utah on Saturday, September 26 at 9 a.m. Burial services will be at the Blanding Cemetery on Saturday, September 26 at 5:30 p.m. Contact the family for more information at 435-678-2602.
