Alan Leon Behunin September 12, 1952 ~ November 6, 2022

Alan Leon Behunin at the age of 70 passed away on November 6, 2022 at his home in Monticello.
He was born in Monticello on September 12, 1952 to Leon and Sherry Behunin. Alan grew up in Monticello until his family moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1969.
Alan graduated from Manzano High School in 1970. After attending the University of New Mexico, Alan joined the US Army.
After returning home from the military, Alan met Sharon Reddert in 1975. They were married for 29 years and together they started a family in Moab where his two sons were born, Daniel and Michael.
The family then moved to Monticello, where Angela was born. After a couple years in Cortez, CO they returned to Moab where his boys graduated from high school.
Alan and family then moved to Mancos, CO, where Angela finished high school.
In 2004, Alan started a new chapter of his life and met Conie Eder. In 2009, Alan and Conie were married in Mancos.
Upon retirement, Alan moved to the Philippines to be with Conie. While living in the Philippines, Alan made several trips back to the United States to visit and spend time with his family.
In 2021, Alan returned to the United States, at which time he was diagnosed with a brain tumor and made the decision to stay in Monticello until the time of his death.
Alan loved sports, the outdoors, history, painting, and his family. He was a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved studying the gospel.
He spent his time hiking and exploring, playing golf with his brother, watching sports, road biking, and reading.
He was always in the company of family and is survived by his wife Conie, parents Leon and Sherry Behunin, children Daniel, Michael (Kristy), and Angela, brother Kerry (Deleska), sister Debra (Norman) Burraston, and grandchildren Levi Alan Strail-Behunin, Riley Behunin, Christian Wilson and Makenzie Wilson.
