Ada Linda Martin Black

June 7, 1939 ~ November 27, 2009

Ada Linda Martin Black died peacefully Friday, November 27, with her family at her side, both in person and in their thoughts and prayers.

Linda was born in Monticello, UT to Graydon and Edna Martin on June 7, 1939.     She married Franklin John Black on September 20, 1957.

Linda loved to travel and to see the world and enjoyed trips to many  places in the US, Mexico, Israel, Europe, British Isles, and Russia.   She loved to learn and had a marvelous ability for conversation.

Linda had a great desire to right the wrongs of society and spent untold hours via mail, phone, and in person communicating her concerns and opinions to congress representatives, senators, government and civic leaders.

Most of all Linda loved her grandkids and spoiled them whenever she could.

She always had a freezer full of Creamies, ice cream, and other treats as well as movies, Nintendo, and other fun activities waiting for them when they visited.

She loved to hear them play their musical instruments and to sing and she praised them sincerely and encouraged the development of their talents.

Linda is survived by her four daughters Toni Hurst, Colleen Hawks, Lori Evans, and Lisa Leisek; by 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; by her sisters Claudia and Patty; and brothers Glen and Gary.

Linda, you are loved; may you be filled with the peace you sought for in this life as you learn, grow, and rejoice in the freedoms and healing of your new life.

Card of thanks
The family would like to thank the nurses, aides, and administrators at Four Corners Care Center and other health providers who gave care and comfort during Linda’s finals months.
