Nine will compete to be Miss San Juan

Nine young women will entertain the audience and compete for the title of Miss San Juan on Friday, June 8. The pageant will be held at the San Juan High School auditorium at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
Contestants will be judged based on a private interview with judges earlier in the day, as well as talent, evening wear and onstage question categories during the program.
Miss San Juan and her attendants will participate in the Independence Day and Pioneer Day celebrations in Blanding and Monticello. Miss San Juan Royalty, along with the Roundup Rodeo Royalty, will oversee the San Juan County Fair in August.
Brittany Bleak, daughter of Denese and Loren Bleak of Blanding, will be a senior at San Juan High School. Her talent will be a dance solo to “Fall For You” by Secondhand Serenade.
Jolene Kirk, of Blanding, will attend Brigham Young University. Jolene is the daughter of Ron and Katy Kirk. Her talent will be an Alto Saxophone Solo; “Listener’s Delight” by Jerry Kalaf.
Jorden Giddings, Blanding, is the daughter of Sean and Lynn Giddings. Jorden will be a junior at the University of Utah this fall. She will be performing a jazz dance solo to “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend” from the movie Moulin Rouge.
Samantha Ann Bergeman, daughter of April Peterson Mikkleson and Justin Bergeman, is from Blanding. This fall Samantha will attend Utah State University in Logan. She will perform a piano and vocal Solo entitled “Hello” by Evanescence.
Kelli Meyer will attend Brigham Young University in the fall. She is the daughter of Rick and Jonna Meyer of Blanding. Her talent will be a piano performance titled “Hymne” by Vangelis arranged by Dan Coates.
Trienna Dawn Arthur, of Blanding, is the daughter of Dawn Marie Day and Ricky and Lana Arthur. She is a graduate of San Juan High school and will attend Utah State University. She will perform a piano solo entitled “Gipsy Rondo (Hungarian Rondo)” by Josef Haydn at the pageant.
Jessica Bergeman, a 2010 graduate of San Juan High School and a Senior at Utah State University, is the daughter of April Peterson Mikkleson and Justin Bergeman from Blanding. She will perform a dance with Archery Shooting to “Within Attraction” by Yanni.
Keosha Mae Benally, of Blanding, is the daughter of Lyle and Leslie Nielson. She is attending Utah State University – Eastern and cosmetology school this fall. Her talent for the competition will be an alto saxophone solo called “Canzonetta and Giga” by Leroy Ostransky.
Kortney Johnson from Blanding is a freshman at Southern Utah University. She is the daughter of Eric and Denise Johnson. Her talent for the pageant will be a clarinet solo, “Siciliano” by J.S. Bach.
