New Air Ambulance base announced in Blanding

Guardian Flight is planning a new Eagle Air Med King Air C90 air medical transport base at the Blanding Municipal Airport. The base will bring eight new full time jobs to the area, including jobs for four pilots, two nurses and two paramedics.
The aircraft will serve company partner Blue Mountain Hospital in Blanding and provide backup support to San Juan Hospital in Monticello and Southwest Health System in Cortez, CO.
The base also will be utilized to back up Guardian Flight bases in Chinle, Window Rock and Kayenta, AZ, and Gallup, NM. The schedule calls for the new base to be activated in late 2018.
Guardian Flight already has a large aircraft maintenance base at the Blanding Municipal Airport, along with Eagle Air Med’s corporate office, program management and a business development team. The medical and flight crews for the Blanding-based King Air C90 will be based in Blanding.
In addition to the new Blanding location, Eagle Air Med has seven other fixed-wing aircraft, with two aircraft serving Chinle, AZ, an aircraft serving Kayenta, AZ, aircraft supporting Gallup, NM, two aircraft flying from Del Norte and Alamosa, CO, and one in Rosebud, SD.
