Maverik announces plans for store in Monticello
Maverik Inc expects to begin construction this spring on a new convenience store in Monticello. The 4,500 square foot convenience store will be located on the corner of Center Street and 300 East, where the Scrapbook Etc building is currently located.
Maverik will invest a little more than $3 million in the project, which will feature an island with five pumping stations. Diesel will also be available.
The store, which will be open 24 hours a day, is Maverik’s newest prototype. It will feature an expanded deli with fresh baked goods.
“Maverik is know to be quite aggressive with gas pricing,” said Dan Murray, a VP at the North Salt Lake City-based company.
Maverik operates 221 stores throught the Intermountain West, with another ten stores in progress. “We will undoubtedly be adding additional stores on the western slope of Colorado,” added Murray. Maverik operates two stores in Moab, three in Grand Junction and one in Cortez.
Murray said that the new facility will open in the late summer or early fall.
