Local couple awarded President's Volunteer Service award

Joel and Lois Palmer were recently awarded the 2012 President’s Volunteer Service Award.
As volunteers with the Education First Foreign Exchange student program, they were nominated and received this prestigious award.  The President’s Volunteer Service Award is issued by the Points of Light Institute and the Corporation for National and Community Service on behalf of the President of the United States.  It is intended to recognize the best in American spirit, and thank and honor Americans who, by their commitment and example, improve their communities and our country through volunteer service.
Joel and Lois have contributed countless hours to the EF Foundation program as a host family and also in the role of Coordinators for the program.  They have also served in the Boy Scouts of America and various other programs and have opened their home to many guests over the years.
Even today they are hosting three full time guests and awaiting a mission call.  Good job and Thank you Joel and Lois.
