‘Color Our World’ Summer Reading Program and other activities set at county libraries

The Summer Reading Program, ‘Color Our World’ is underway at libraries in the county.
BINGO cards are available for Children, Teens & Tweens, and Adults. To participate, visit your local library and sign up to be a part of the program.
Complete the activities in the squares, and then bring your cards in to the library each week where you will get to pick a prize, adults included!
Fun and free activities are also a part of the Summer Reading Program.
‘Color Our World’ kicked off on June 4 with “Mad Science.” where kids learned about light waves, watched three scientific experiments, and received a pair of sunglasses that turned light sources into rainbows.
Scales and Tails, a kids’ favorite, will return July 3 with a show in Blanding at 9 a.m. and a show in Monticello at 1 p.m.
The schedule of activities in June is as follows:
Monticello Library – Activities begin at 1 p.m.
Thurs. June 12 – Popcorn Bar
Wednesday June 18 – Nature Art Wall-hangings
Thurs. June 26 – Make & Float Boats
Blanding Library Activities:
June 12 – Treasure Chest Painting (11 a.m.)
June 12 – Paint Night (6 p.m.) Paint Night is for Teens ages 13-19, and Adults. Limit of 12 participants. Please sign up.
June 18 – Family Movie Night (5:30 p.m.)
June 26 – Collage Art (11 a.m.)
June 26 – Glass Painting for Teens and Tweens (4:30 p.m.) Please sign up in advance to participate in this activity.
Montezuma Creek:
June 20 – Sundial / Suncatchers (1 to 3 p.m.)
Bluff Library:
June 26 – Sundial / Suncatchers (1 to 3 p.m.)
La Sal Library:
Through June and July – Take and Make Kits; Ongoing In-House Mosaic; and Ongoing In-House Jumbo Coloring.
Activities will continue through July so stay tuned for the next Library Corner to find out what fun things are going on at your nearest library in July.
Don’t forget that Story Time is every Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Monticello and Blanding libraries.
STEM activities at the Monticello Library are also every Wednesday.
