Candidate for San Juan County Sheriff
I am running for San Juan County Sheriff and would appreciate your vote in the Republican primary on June 26.
Why I’m running:
I have lived in San Juan County for approximately 13 years. It has been a privilege to live here and to serve as a law-enforcement officer for San Juan County and Blanding City. I want to be San Juan County Sheriff because I believe a good sheriff with experience and leadership skills has an important role in working with all law-enforcement agencies in the county. I believe I have the experience, leadership, communication skills, and respect to work with these agencies. I believe youth are our future and our most important blessing. I will work with local police agencies to provide safety for our kids and schools. I have integrity and will work hard to have an efficient and transparent department. I will work to be a sheriff for ALL citizens.
My experience includes 15 years law enforcement experience, Corrections officer, Patrol deputy, Patrol Sergeant, Investigator/detective, Drug Task Force commander, Office of Medical Examiner investigator, Chief of Police, San Juan County Deputy of the Year 2011, Sevier County Integrity Award 2003, and a BS degree from Southern Utah University Biology with a minor in criminal justice.
My commitment includes protecting Constitutional rights/life and property of all San Juan County citizens, ensuring deputies are patrolling outlying areas and communities of San Juan County, continuing to work hard to keep drugs and alcohol away from our youth, working closely with law enforcement agencies/other organizations in the county, training and working with other agencies to keep school/kids safe, enforcing laws fairly and consistently.
