Great service to country

Dear Editor:

Attached is a photo of my sons and myself.  I am very proud of my son’s service to our country as I am also proud of my 40 year military career.

I am sending this recent photo (May 2009) to the San Juan Record to inform you of some previous San Juan County residents presently serving our country.  Monticello is where my children call home.  A few times a year, we all meet in beautiful San Juan County.  Captain Mario La Giglia is serving as a physician in a six-year surgical residency at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, El Paso, TX.  Staff Sergeant Dominick La Giglia and Tech Sergeant Brendan La Giglia are both serving Security Forces active duty tours with the Utah Air National Guard in Salt Lake City.  Staff Sergeant Gino La Giglia is serving an active duty tour with the Utah Army National Guard, 19th Special Forces in Salt Lake City.  I, Master Sergeant Michael La Giglia, is serving on active duty with the Utah Air National Guard at Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan.  My daughter Kristina, married Josh Ksiazkiewicz, also from Monticello and they live and work in Chandler, AZ.
