Easter Services planned

Christians throughout San Juan County will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday on April 8. Many churches in the area have special services and activities planned.  They invite everyone who wishes to participate.
The San Juan Community Church in Monticello is having its Annual Easter Revival. On Wednesday and Thursday, April 4-5 at 7 p.m. they will welcome services by Pastor Larry Johnson.  A Good Friday concert will be at 7 p.m. featuring Tim Krebs, Country Gospel. Easter Sunday Sunrise services will be held at 7 a.m. with Josh Baird.  Each service will be followed by fellowship and refreshments.
The First Baptist Church in Monticello will have a Sunrise service at 7 a.m. on Easter Sunday, followed by breakfast.  Sunday school will begin at 9:45 a.m. and the Worship service at 11 a.m.  There will be an activity for the children, but no evening service.
Regular services will be held at the following churches:
First Baptist Church in Blanding holds a 9:30 Sunday School, and an 11 a.m. worship followed by fellowship.
Faith Assembly of God in Blanding will hold services at 10:30 a.m. and evening prayer at 7 p.m.
St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Monticello, will hold an Easter Mass at noon.
Local congregations of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will hold sacrament services at 9 a.m. for the Monticello First and Second wards and the La Sal and Eastland branches. Sacrament services start at 11 .m. for the Third and Fourth wards. The Fourth Ward is having a ward party on Saturday, April 7 at 4 p.m. that will include dinner and an Easter Egg Hunt.
The National Honor Society at Monticello High School is sponsoring an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 7 at 10 a.m. at the baseball field and playground, for children ages 3 to 8. In case of inclement weather, they will meet at the high school.
