Cheryl Bowers

Dear Blanding Residents,

I am running for another term as a Blanding City Council Member for one main reason: there is still more to be done. If I felt that I had burned out or was non effective, I would remove my name from the ballot and graciously bow out. Government moves slowly, and that has been a frustration for me, but I believe that I can make a difference for you, the residents of this beautiful city.

As a City Council Woman for over four years, most Blanding residents know me. I am not afraid to stand up for you and what is best for this City, I am not afraid to use my voice and speak up, and I’m not afraid to work hard. I renovated a boutique hotel on Main Street, I started a manufacturing business, I support non-profits, small business, shop local, protecting our youth, feeding those in need and I believe that we need to continue to move forward economically as a city or we will fall short.

I will fight for your freedom to make your own choices, I Back the Blue, and believe maintaining our strong police and fire departments is critical to maintaining local control. Creating jobs for our children, improving Main Street and supporting efforts to improve blighted buildings, improving our baseball/softball fields and replacing the dirt on those fields, preserving and displaying the history of this beautiful city, increasing and maintaining water storage, and maintaining our small-town way of life are all things that you have told me are important to you, and so they are important to me.

I will continue to push forward these and other areas as your City Council Member.  I would graciously ask for your vote for Blanding City Council and that you contact me, if I can be of help.
