Buckaroo wrestlers have strong week

The Monticello Buckaroo Wrestlers had a second strong week with a big win over the Grand County Red Devils and a strong showing at the North Sanpete Tournament over the weekend.
On Wednesday, the Bucks hosted the Red Devils in their first dual of the season, putting on a great show defeating the Grand team 70-12.
Buckaroos Brayson Wilcox, Kayden Draper, Zac Musselman, Isiah Sheeran and Nathan Moore all earned exciting wins by fall. Wyatt Fullmer also won big in a major decision. 
Steven Robinson and Seamis Barrell fought hard but were defeated by their opponents.  Mark Beh, Shandon Bradford, Paul DeAnda, Justin Cecil and Thomas Anderson and Parker Knudsen all received forfeits on the night.
Over the weekend the Bucks travelled to the Juab Winter Classic Tournament where they brought home a second place finish in their pool.
In eight duals for the weekend, the Buckaroos earned 6 wins against Timpanogas 58-9, Uintah 54-18, Highland 42-39, Pleasant Grover 46-31, North Sanpete 59-8 and the JV All Stars 54-20.  The Buckaroos were tough all weekend loosing duals to Freemont by 15 and Blackfoot, Idaho by 12 points.
Zac Musselman, Shandon Bradford and Brayson Wilcox were all perfect on the weekend finishing undefeated at 8-0.
A host of Buckaroos finished with a 5-3 record for the weekend including Mark Beh, Wyatt Fullmer, Thomas Anderson, Isaiah Sheeran, and Parker Knudsen. 
Paul DeAnda and Justin Cecil worked hard on their way to a 4-4 record. Nathan Moore, Steven Robinson and Kayden Draper all earned three wins at the tournament. Spencer Squires earned three wins. 
The Buckaroos were also strong in the JV tournament with Bryson Henderson, Tyler Draper and Matt Beh each going undefeated on their way to first place finishes. 
Finishing in second were Reed Hedglin and Justus Robison.  Third place honors went to Clayton Westcott and Tacovi Warren.  Gage Wilcox and Colton Lewis each earned a fourth place finish followed by Braxton Atwood in fifth and Seamis Barrell in eighth. 
Head Coach Kent Adair said the team is coming together well early in the season. 
This week, the Bucks take on a tough Norwood Colorado team Wednesday at 6 p.m. at MHS.  Fans should note the early start time for the event and come out to see an exciting match up. 
This weekend, the Bucks travel to the Manti Tournament before heading into the holiday break.
