Alumni Roundup at MHS
The Monticello High School Buckaroo Alumni Homecoming “Roundup” will be held on Friday and Saturday, September 28-29.
The Annual MHS Buckaroo Alumni Homecoming “Roundup” activities begin at noon on Friday, September 28 at the high school with the Homecoming Parade.
The Alumni is honoring two Grand Marshals in the parade and at the football game. The Alumni Grand Marshal is Juan Hansen, Class of 1949, and the Faculty Grand Marshal is Oleen Hatch, revered and respected teacher.
Aside from the parade and football game, the Alumni will also hold the annual Memorial Service honoring deceased Buckaroos. The Service will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 29 at the Monticello Cemetery.
Seating is being set up, however please bring lawn chairs in case more seating is needed. The Alumni Deceased Buckaroo Roster and Memorial Service is a sacred and honored tradition, hopefully appreciated by all Buckaroos and townsfolk.
Indeed, all local residents are invited to attend, whether or not they are MHS Alumni.
Buckaroo Alumni are invited to join the MHS Buckaroo Alumni Association and participate in alumni events. Annual membership dues are $20, payable to MHS Buckaroo Alumni and sent to Alumni Treasurer Kris Black at P.O. Box 368, Monticello, UT 84535. 435-587-2230.
Please indicate your class when sending funds, so we can identify you.
Funds received are used to manage and maintain the Buckaroo Alumni Association and provide annual Alumni gifts to MHS.
The Association keeps updated rosters with information available to all alumni: 1) Roster of students who attended MHS. 2) Class rosters from 1880 to 2018. 3) Deceased Buckaroo roster. 4) Faculty roster. The Alumni Association is also writing the history of Monticello schools from 1880 to the present.
