Abajo Enduro race is Aug 1

Saddle up shredders. August 1 marks the Second Annual Abajo Enduro Mountain Bike Race. Last year, 26 riders began near the towers on Abajo Peak and finished at Foy Lake.
This year, the route has slightly changed to meet Forest Service requirements. Registered riders will shuttle from the Monticello Visitors Center to the North Creek Saddle.
From there, they transition to the Spring Creek and Robertson’s Pasture Trailhead, which is located on the backside of Horse Head Peak in the Blue Mountains.
After a 518 foot elevation warm-up climb to the Robertson Pasture Saddle, the Enduro staging begins. Each rider will descend 6.3 miles on the timed segment of the trail to Foy Lake.
Participants, volunteers and supporters will enjoy wraps and smoothies at the finish line catered by the PeaceTree. Cash prizes for men’s and women’s top three finishers are $100, $75 and $50!
Tickets will be sold for a raffle of some fabulous swag immediately following the awards! All registered racers receive five tickets to the raffle.
This race and family friendly event promises to be an epic experience; one you will want to go back home and tell your friends all about.
Register online at theraceexperts.com or in person at the Peace Tree in Monticello on Friday evening and on Saturday morning at the Monticello Visitors Center.
