You Can’t Take It With You is an amazing play that sends messages of hope, love and family. It is a play about two young lovers, Alice Sycamore (Heather Holyoak) and Tony Kirby (Joseph Weatherford), who plan to get married despite their family differences.
However, this plan goes haywire when Tony brings his family to the Sycamore home a night early, revealing the unrefined, slightly eccentric, but loveable side of the Sycamores.
Through a series of events, the wedding is canceled. No matter how much Tony pleads, Alice is firm in her resolve, and despite the pleas of her family, plans on taking an extended vacation to the Adirondacks in northern New York.
The play resolves itself in a brilliant fashion and one will laugh all the way through.
Admission cost is $5 per person, so come and support the arts at Monticello High School. You won’t regret it.
