Gerald Dean Black died peacefully at home from complications of heart failure on May 15, 2019.
He was born on July 10, 1937 to Chauncey and Opal Belveal Black, of Blanding.
He valued his family, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, hard work, long drives, finding humor in daily events, and life experiences.
He is survived by his wife, Mareen Thompson Black; brothers, Carl Black and Ben Black; sisters, Janice Kaye Tea and Shirley McCary; children, Terri Harris, Neva Nardone, Bart Black, Dan Black, Matt Black, and Chad Black; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are Sunday, May 26, 2019 at 1 p.m. at the Monticello City Cemetery.
