May 10, 1957 ~ June 12, 2017

Jaren Wayne Johnson returned to his heavenly home June 12, 2017 due to complications from pancreatic cancer.

He was surrounded by family and friends and is survived by his wife, Kristen; sisters Diana (Wayne) Asay, Laurel (Tim) Reed; many stepchildren, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by parents, Sylvan and Jeanne; brothers, Layne and Ryan; and sister, Sylvia.

Jaren lived a very active life full of animals, people, wonders, and adventures. He started doing radio in Blanding at the ripe old age of 14 and after high school made it a career. Music was Jaren’s life.

He worked the Northwest, Utah, and Texas in the Midland Odessa area.

In the 1990’s Jaren moved over into television production. He directed, edited and produced news and local programing, ran the cameras, did voice overs, and wrote jingles for advertisements.

He hosted and produced an Easter Seals Telethon and did charity work for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

He came back to Blanding eight years ago to marry Kristen. Ever the businessman, he bought a vending company that he built into a thriving business, which he was very proud of.

Jaren’s turn on earth was short but colorful. He will be missed.
