San Juan Corrals
This corral is on White Mesa.  The corral was constructed by using juniper (cedar) posts close together and tightly wired together.  This particular one is presumed to have been constructed in the 1930s by CCC crews.  This corral is no longer in use.

Local photographer Kay Shumway has been making use of his quadracopter to photograph corrals in San Juan County. The functional and the artistic aspects of the corrals take shape from the air. The photographs show the creativity, design, and hard work that is required to get water to livestock in a dry land.
