Mountain bike enthusiasts are excited about an August 9 mountain bike race that will start at the top of Abajo Peak and finish at Foy Lake.

The Abajo Enduro promises to be an epic race experience starting in an Alpine zone at 11,500 feet, ultimately descending more than 3,500 feet with just under 1,000 feet of overall climbing over a roughly ten-mile course through dense mountain woodlands and open prairies ending at spring-fed, four-acre Foy Lake.

The course is part of the greater Monticello Mountain Mayhem mountain bike route that continues to the historic Newspaper Rock petroglyph site.

Five dollars of each race entry fee is donated to Pedal for Chi www.pedalforchi.com to contribute to the important work taking place to provide occupational therapy to a forgotten population of Vietnamese children negatively impacted by various factors that make them outcasts in a society that has few resources to serve an embattled population.

Pedal for Chi raises money that is directly put into therapeutic equipment with which founder, Erin Moravec, delivers, applies and instructs. She diligently uses her resources to pay local craftsmen to create reusable braces to suit the sizes of her small but growing child patients.

She travels to the orphanages of Vietnam spreading her caring message of hope and compassion in the form of positive action. Visit Pedal for Chi on the web at www.pedalforchi.com or on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Pedal-for-Chi/1425334524372520
