Nearly 75 youth from Pre-K to the sixth grade participated in the Vacation Bible School sponsored by the First Baptist Church in Monticello.
Leaders and supporters of the church directed the many activities of the Bible School entitled “Kingdom Chronicles”.
The school lasts for five days and is full of fun, training, singing, and games. The school was a tremendous success.
Erin Barry, director of the Bible School, said, “We learned how to put on the full armor of God, and to stand against the wiles of the wicked one. The children and leaders had so much fun.”
Hailey, a five-year-old attendee who won the Pre-K foot race, said, “I had fun and made crafts.”
Serra Belle, age ten of Monticello, said, “We learned to lean to the Lord’s side. We will have temptations but we need to listen to the Lord and stay on His side.”
Treycen, age seven from Rigby, ID, said he learned about Jesus, and to follow His words. He made a “Shield of Faith,” which “quenches all the fiery darts of the wicked one.”
The interim Pastor, Paul Wilson, was in attendance as well as many other leaders from the church.
Youth from many religions, and from near and far, were thrilled as the finale program was presented to parents and family on June 27 with song and music. It was followed by a barbecue and ice cream.
