Willmirth Mary Johnson, 97, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 1, 2013 from a heart attack at her home in Perry, UT.

She was born on April 29, 1915 in Mesa, AZ, a daughter of James Henry and Stella Mary Clark Johnson.

Wilma married Donald Agustus McPherson on April 24, 1942 in Mesa, AZ.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Oakland Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He preceded her in death on October 8, 1980. 

She married Anton Ivan Johnson in August, 1985 in Mesa, AZ. He preceded her in death on November 8, 1994.

Wilma served in the US Army during World War II.

She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She was a survivor of the Lariat Restaurant (explosion) incident.

Wilma retired from nursing from the Reno Nevada Health Department.

Wilma dedicated her later years to knitting children’s caps for the humanitarian society. She has knitted over 4,000 caps for the Humanitarian Fund. 

Upon retiring she started taking art lessons, which she really enjoyed and excelled at. She also enjoyed reading and crocheting.

Surviving is stepdaughter Louise (Lyle) Coombs of Mesa, AZ and sister Trudy McDowell of Scottsdale, AZ.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one brother, four sisters and one stepbrother.

Funeral services were held Friday, February 9 in Eastland, UT.

Interment in the Mt. View Cemetery in Eastland.
