Longtime San Juan Record contributor

Pat Davis, 81, left this life on Thursday, December 22, 2011.  She was a Marine during the Korean War.

Born in Connecticut, she grew up in Lowell, MA.

The Marine Corps took her to Parris Island and after leaving the Corps, she moved to Texas, then to Montezuma Creek and Mexican Hat, UT and later to California, where she was a fire safety inspector at Port Hueneme.  She retired to Yuma, AZ and stayed there until her death.

Pat had the unique opportunity to work at jobs she truly enjoyed.  She was a Marine, a school librarian and she wrote a weekly column for the San Juan Record called “Around the Hat with Pat”.

Anyone who came into contact with Pat felt her friendship.  She loved to tell jokes and she loved to help charities.

Pat leaves behind her daughter Karen (Larry) Lord of Yuma, AZ; sons Buff (Jayne) Davis of Blanding and Scott Davis of Moab.  She also leaves behind her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as numerous friends whom she treasured.

No services will be held.  In remembrance of Pat, please make donations to Hospice of Yuma, who took care of her for two long years.  You may sign the guest book at: www.yumasun.com/obituaries.
