Representing San Juan High School at “Utah Business Week” at Utah State University in Logan this summer were intrepid students Shelby Whipple, Teasha Jacobsen and Wheeler Heck.

UBW was held July 31 to August 6, 2011. Participants were given an opportunity to mingle with business professionals and receive insight into how the world of business really works.

Teasha said, “Business Week was great!  There were really good speakers who taught me a lot about the keys to running a business.  There were amazing people there from all over the state.  We were divided into companies and taught how to work together as a team, too!”

Wheeler wrote that “Utah Business Week was one of the BEST weeks of my life!”  The Logan campus was beautiful and the experience was enjoyable.  The presenters there were from Skull Candy and Sub ZERO Ice Cream.

Chelci Fullmer from U.S.U. wrote, “Wheeler Heck ended up being the student speaker representing the boys at the graduation banquet. He was instrumental to all and greatly demonstrated how he personally benefited from attending the program.” Wheeler is also the Utah State FBLA Secretary.

Other Utah students interested in UBW can go to their website:  . Applications for next summer will be available in the spring.
