A massive cougar was taken by 12-year-old Justin Johnson on January 8, 2011.  A large number of people were involved in the hunt, including those pictured (left to right) Justin’s father Wayne Johnson, Deen Lyman, Justin Johnson, Danny Palmer and Jolly Bayles. The hound shown is Sampson.  Slade Perkins and Joe Badback also were involved in the hunt.  Danny Palmer’s lead hound, “Babe”, was killed during the chase. This is not the mountain lion that was discovered while following a Blanding woman who was walking near Westwater. Courtesy photo
