Oscar Semadeni (center) cooperative weather observer for the National Weather Service at Cedar Point, UT, with his wife Lila, was presented with the Helmut E. Landsberg Award on October 27.  Presenting this 60 Year Length of Service Award is Meteorologist In Charge Doug Crowley, NWS Grand Junction, CO. Oscar has been observing the weather since 1949 from his farm about 15 miles southeast of Monticello.  He received the John Campanius Holm Award for outstanding observations in 1979, and the Thomas Jefferson Award for outstanding and distinct service in 2001, the highest award a cooperative weather observer can get.
