Timothy Lee Rush passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at his home in Monticello, UT.
Tim was born on March 10, 1954 in Bakersfield, CA to Leon Page Rush, Sr. and Wanda Lucille Thiessan Rush.
Tim was the second of four children.
Tim met his wife Deborah Ann Rush, in April, 1983 in Palmdale, CA. They were married in May, 1983 and started their 30- year adventure together.
Tim loved to see what was over the next hill from California to Colorado to Arizona to Alaska. Finally, after seeing the beauty of Monticello in 1991, he decided to put down roots here and let the grass grow under his feet. He worked at Alan’s Body Shop since 1991.
Tim’s biggest enjoyment was the outdoors. He lived for hunting, fishing, camping, anything to get outside. For the past few years, going shed hunting was something he looked forward to with great anticipation. It turned into a competition with his wife to see who would find the first, biggest, most.
Tim would make hanging plant baskets with the brown sheds he found. Tim also loved to garden. He had great joy in planting a seed and watching it grow. He loved the colors of the flowers that were planted.
Tim was a man who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it and when he gave his word, he kept it. He had a very giving heart.
Tim is survived by his wife Debbie, five children, Nathan of Fullerton, CA, Amber of Tehachapi, CA, Bonnie (Scott) Sandifer of Gilbert, AZ, Michelle (Randy) Hoggard of Lafayette, LA, and Cody (Elizabeth) Rush of Lafayette, LA; seven grandchildren with another one due in September.
He is also survived by brother Leon Page Rush, Jr. of Tonto Basin, AZ, sisters Sharah Lynn Rush of Manhattan Beach, CA, and Sandra Rae Rush of Dripping Springs, TX.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Wanda Rush.
Debbie and all of Tim’s family would like to thank you all for your kindness and prayers. Tim will be greatly missed.
A memorial service was held in Tim’s honor on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Monticello.
