I have been asked frequently why I am running for city council. I have based my decision on a few principles. First, I really feel that the city of Monticello has given a lot to my family and I feel like this is an opportunity to give back. Second, I feel that all citizens should participate in the political process that has been given us. I think that it is incredible to have a full slate of candidates running. Most importantly, I feel that Monticello is a great place to live and that it’s citizens are it’s greatest resource. I know that our citizens have many valid concerns regarding our resources, infrastructure, and the challenges of growth (or lack of growth).  I don’t claim to know the answers to these questions but I know that as a community we can find solutions to challenges through open and honest dialogue.
