San Juan County’s New Year Baby for 2013 is Alkira Vereesha Blackhorse of Bluff. Alkira was born on New Years Day, January 1, 2013, at 4:20 p.m. at Blue Mountain Hospital in Blanding. Alkira was delivered by Roberta Ward and tipped the scales at 8 pounds, 4 ounces and 21.5 inches long. She is the first child of Lakeesha and Taylor Blackhorse. Staff photo
