Devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Robert C. Pehrson passed away peacefully on November 5, 2017 just short of his 90th year. Robert led his life as a man who loved God, loved his family, and loved his country.
From an early age, he was taught hard work, being raised on a large ranch in southern Utah. He instilled these same values to his two sons and many grandchildren.
Robert was a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. He was later sent to Vietnam multiple times during that war. He retired after 27 years of service and excellence from Hill Air Force Base.
Robert met and then married the love of his life, Dorothy Fergus, on Valentine’s Day in 1949. It was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
“Bob and Dot” enjoyed 63 glorious years until her passing in 2013. Robert devoted and sacrificed all in the final years of her life taking care of her needs, at times carrying her when she was too weak to walk, and never failing to offer generously the power of the priesthood in his many blessings.
Bob cherished his many callings but grew especially close to his Heavenly Father while serving in the Ogden, UT and Mesa, AZ LDS temples.
Robert is now fulfilling the next step in his eternal appointment by joining his sweet bride in the next chapter of their lives as the wait for her champion is over.
They leave sons David (Nancy) and John (Jacy), eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a legacy of love and caring for one’s neighbor.
Robert is preceded in death and now reunited with Dorothy; his parents Junius Thorpe and Sylvia Alvretta; brothers Evan, Dale, Jay and Kent; sisters Donna, Ruth and Helen, and great-granddaughters Abbie and Violet.
Funeral services were held on November 11, 2017 in West Valley City, UT. Interment at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch in Ogden, UT.
