August 14, 1938 ~ January 23, 2011

Philip was born to Doris Correne (Hall) and Arthur H. Boyd at the family homestead, Summit Point, UT. His grandparents were Grace and Cecil Hall. Phil grew up at Summit Point, Monticello and eventually Redondo Beach, CA. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963, first at Ft. Sill, OK then at Ft. Lewis, WA, where he painted beautiful nature murals on the walls of the mess hall.

In 1963, he married Charmaine Stephens of Sacramento, CA, and they settled in Redondo Beach. After many years of service at Redondo High School, Phil retired from the South Bay High School District and began rebuilding the homestead at Summit Point. He lived in both Dove Creek, CO and Summit Point, UT.

He leaves behind many children: Athena (Doug) Spigner, Elena (Senon) Martinez, Eric (Paula) Boyd, Ethan Boyd, Seth (Yvonne) Boyd, Jeb (Jami) Boyd and Rebekah (Jimmy) Morris; ex-wife Charmaine of Cedar Point, UT and her son, Joshua Shepard; grandchildren Beth, Elyssia, Chris and Andrew Spigner, Ayla Rodgers Dorton, Nathaniael and Justin Boyd, Briana and Emma Boyd, James T. and Jeremy Morris. Great-grandchildren: Jolena Yen, Preston Spigner, Jehzriel Dorton, and Konner Spigner; also his brother Charles (Julie) of Summit Point, his beloved uncle Albert Hall and many cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and two great-grandchildren, Joseph Andrew Yen and Landon Douglas Spigner.

Graveside service were at the C.E. Hall Ranch, West Summit Rd, Summit Point, UT on January 27, with Pastor Mike Farren officiating.

Death is but a transition. Life continues in immortality and we rejoice that our beloved Philip is now at home with our Lord and those he loves, gone before.
