Nancy Barrell of Monticello, UT died early Monday morning July 1, 2013 at St Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, CO.

She was born August 17, 1946 in Price, UT to John and Nora (Hardy) Himmelberger.

She attended school at Monticello High School and graduated in 1965.

Nancy married her high school sweetheart, Derrald Barrell, on June 12, 1965 while he was home on leave from the Army.

Their first son, Darrin, was born on July 27, 1967. Brian, their second son, arrived on March 29, 1972.

She worked in the school cafeteria and loved cooking and baking. She enjoyed being outdoors and loved camping, riding ATVs and reading. She was known for her love of hummingbirds and her collection grew over the years with many gifts from family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Derrald, her mother Nora, and her brother Dwight.

She is survived by her father John Himmelberger of Monticello, UT, Darrin (Marilee) Barrell of Smithfield, UT, son Brian (Kandi) Barrell of Monticello, UT, brother Keith (Janet) Himmelberger of Vonore, TN, brother Phil (Irene) Himmelberger of Murray, UT and six grandchildren; Christopher, Jonathan, Clancy, Justin, Dawn and Seamis.

A viewing was held Monday July 8 in Monticello, UT followed directly by a graveside service.
