Rick Clark was appointed to the Monticello City Council on Tuesday, January 14. He replaces councilman Tim Young, who left an open position on the council when he was elected Mayor of Monticello.

Clark will serve on the Council until the November 2015 general election.

Four city residents signaled a willingness to be considered for the position, including Clark, Tom Wiggington, Mike Pehrson, and Matt Keyes.

Seven city residents ran for two available spots on the city council, including Keyes and Clark. They were filled in the November 2013 general election by Steve Duke and George Rice, Jr.

Clark joins Scott Frost, Scott Shakespeare, Duke and Rice on the council.
