Workman was killed in Afghanistan on August 5 when a Chinook helicopter he was in was hit by enemy fire. Thirty eight people were killed in the incident, including 22 elite Navy Seals.
It is expected that Utah Governor Gary Herbert and a large number of Navy Seals will be in attendance at the memorial service.
Members of the Workman family from Blanding, including his parents and brother, were in Virginia at the press deadline. They were able to meet the airplane carrying Workman’s body when it arrived in the United States.
Workman will be interred in Arlington National Cemetery. Those services have not been announced.
