Jonathan “Jonny” Emil Eberling was born in Magna UT on June 14, 1980. He was the third of four children born to Ron and Janice Eberling of Blanding.
Jonny was a gentle soul with free spirit. He was at home in the outdoors, hiking, climbing, skiing.
Anyone that knew Jonny knew that he had a good heart. He loved people and treated all with respect. He was protective of his family and friends, compassionate for his fellowman, friendly to children, and genuinely fond of people.
If there was someone in need, Jonny was the first to offer help. Whether it was a homeless person asking for help, or someone with car trouble, or just someone needing a lift, Jonny would not turn them down.
He was a hard worker, talented and experienced at many things. He could fix or build about anything.
Motorcycles were one of his great loves in life. He would agree that four wheels move the body, but two wheels move the soul.
He liked riding dirt bikes with his brothers. He had no fear. He loved riding his Harley. He would rarely pass up an opportunity to ride for a cause. He would ride hundreds of miles to participate in a benefit Harley ride for a friend or a stranger.
Jonny passed away on February 24, 2010. He will be profoundly missed by his family, his friends, and all who knew him.
Jonny is preceded in death by his sister Lisa Lynn and by his Grandparents.
He is survived by his parents, Ron and Janice Eberling, brother Justin, brother James M. Eberling (wife Karla), niece Allie, and nephew Peyton.
Services will be held in Blanding Utah at the LDS Stake Center on Wednesday, March 3, at 11 a.m. A viewing will be held March 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at San Juan Mortuary.
Card of thanks
His family wishes to thank the community for their outpouring of love and support. They also would like to express a special thank you to Nykol Bailey for providing the motivation for Jonny to improve his life. He was a better person because of her and her two boys, Lincoln and Jackson.
