Aneth Community School students celebrated March is Reading Month in great style on March 29.

The students were put to the challenge four weeks ago to read all month and march the Hungry Caterpillar all the way around the school! The students actually surpassed their goal and read for a grand total of 2,561 books and marched the caterpillar almost two times around the school.

The reward for meeting the goal was that Education Specialist Mr. Walbecq had to wear a wedding dress and eat a worm sundae; all topped off with a movie and popcorn and a special guest, Isaiah Bob, award-winning Fancy Dancer!

Needless to say you could see and hear all the joy and happiness from every student as Mr. Walbecq gracefully made his ‘wedding’ march into the gymnasium and on to the stage with his Dr. Seuss hat bouquet of flowers.

March is Reading Month at Aneth Community School is designed to promote a love of reading and increase student involvement in their learning.
