The San Juan County Fairgrounds got a bit of a makeover this week, thanks to a group of 60 volunteer youth and their leaders. The group of LDS youth from the Parleys Stake 6th Ward in Salt Lake City spent two days in Monticello for Youth Conference. They did several activities, including river rafting and attending the local LDS temple, as well as the service project. The project was led by Will Nielson as an Eagle Scout project. Nielson, 15, is a student at Highland High School. In three hours spent at the fairgrounds, the youth, ages 12-18, gave the food pavillion and ticket booth a new coat of paint, stained a fence, and sanded and painted the bleachers. Courtesy photo
